Ian Klug (Chairman)

Consultant, Pitcher Partners and Chair, Brisbane Semarang Sister City Committee

Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Director of the City Business Advisory Board. He is also Chairman of the Brisbane Semarang Sister City Committee and sits on the boards of several unlisted investment and trading companies.  Ian is a Consultant in the firm of Pitcher Partners, Chartered Accountants and has extensive experience in providing business coaching, taxation and investment advice to a wide range of private companies, business executives and individuals.

Mark Brodie

Chairman, Brodie Group

Mark is the Chairman of Brodie Group and founder of Brodies Mealmakers a company that owns and operates Quick Service Restaurants. Mark is also Chairman of the National Retail Association, City of Brisbane Investment Corporation and the Lord Mayor’s Business Round Table. He also holds directorships and fellowships with several other companies and organisations.

Geoff Harley

Consultant, Clayton Utz, Adjunct Professor of Law at The University of Queensland, Chair, Translink

Geoff has practiced law for more than 35 years, primarily in the area of commercial litigation. Having served as Managing Partner and Partner-in-Charge of Clayton Utz's Brisbane office, Geoff has resigned from the Partnership and is now a Consultant to the firm.  He currently sits on a number of boards and advisory councils including the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and the Griffith University Business School and chairs the Translink Transit Authority. Geoff has served as Chairman of a government-owned electricity generation company and in other directorships, giving him a valuable understanding of management and board perspectives on workplace issues.

Anthony Hayes

Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Queensland

Anthony Hayes joined Tourism Queensland (TQ) in 2005 as Executive Director International Operations after a long career in management with Qantas, which included heading up the Airline’s German and Austrian operations, Industry Sales for New South Wales, Product Development, Tourism Marketing and Corporate Sponsorships. Anthony was appointed Chief Executive Officer (TQ) in September 2007 after acting in the position for three months. He has served on several tourism industry boards including the Australian Tourism Export Council and Sydney Visitors and Convention Bureau. He is also a Board Director for Tourism Tropical North Queensland.

Bronwyn Morris

Company Director

Bronwyn is a professional non-executive director whose portfolio spans a broad range of industries. She is a director of Spotless Group Limited, Queensland Investment Corporation, RACQ, Care Australia, Stanwell Corporation Limited and Brisbane Marketing Pty Ltd.  Bronwyn is also a Councillor of Bond University and a member of the Australian Advisory Council of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

A Chartered Accountant, she was the first female partner of KPMG in Queensland and the first female appointed to the Queensland State Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. She later chaired that Council and served on the National Council of the Institute.

From July 1999 to June 2006, Bronwyn was Chairman of Queensland Rail.  She also served as a director of Colorado Group Limited from November 1999 to February 2007. She is a former director of the Office of Economic Development for the City of Brisbane Limited and the Queensland Office of Financial Supervision.

Sean Ryan

General Manager, Nova 106.9

As part of a 14 year career in television and radio, Sean Ryan launched the Nova 106.9 station in August 2004. After months of broadcasting in test mode from a one bedroom apartment, Sean took the station live in April 2005 and within six months on air, Nova Brisbane became the leading station in the market overall, and has subsequently been the leading station in the Brisbane market in every survey since April 2006.

Sean embarked on his media career in Canberra as Sales Executive for WIN Television and was quickly promoted to Sales Manager and then Canberra Branch Manager. Following WIN Television’s acquisition of VIC TV, he was relocated to Ballarat to take on the role of State Advertising Manager and State Operations Manager, and later the company’s National Direct Sales division in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Sean is a Director of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and chairs its Five Chefs’ Dinner He also sits on the boards of Major Brisbane Festivals and The Mater Hospital Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service (ADAWS). Other commitments include the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, the Variety Club Children’s Charity and serving on the City Smart Committee.

Peter Sherrie

Director, Excel Development Group Pty Ltd

Peter Sherrie is a Past President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA), having led the Institute from 2004 to 2006 and is still a Director of UDIA Queensland and the current Vice President for the UDIA National Body. Peter has over 16 years experience in development in Queensland and New South Wales. He is currently a Director of Excel Development Group Pty Ltd and a Director of EDG Biloela Pty Ltd.

Belinda Walters

Company Director

Belinda Walters has a broad range of experience in the event management, convention and tourism industries in South Australia. She has held a number of senior positions in these industries, including General Manager – Australian Major Events (South Australia) and Executive Director – Adelaide Convention and Tourism Authority.
